Woooo Hoooo Get Me - Guest Designer

I was completely delighted to be asked to do this - as I am sure all past designers have been as well - but Oh how nerve racking is it - and they made me go shopping for bits too - and not "fabby" craft shop shopping either - down to the Charity Shops which I have to say round here leave alot to be desired!

Anyway, I really struggled to find something and also kept getting distracted and after three shops though - what about paper things, so looked at the choccy wrappers in Oxfam - but thought that would be stretching it a bit for the first challenge, then discovered this old baby pattern and though - ping I know what I can do with that.... and there you go this is what I did.The two little buttons to the left came from freecycle - so that is worth mentioning as well. Whats freecycle - go here and find out - stop sending so much to landfill I say and re-use - great fun.

I scanned the pattern and resized to fit onto a card (Don't ask me specifics I just guessed OK) I also had to do a bit of patchwork as there was a bit of the front page marked - so tinkered with it in paint and managed to sort it out - can you spot it??? so learnt a few things 1) how to sort my scanner to work 2) shrinking to fit what I want and 3) Patching up missing bits and thats before I even touched any card making stuff! I then mounted this on the left of the card, added a bit of cute ribbon and stamped the little feet down the right with a little hero stamp from a baby set. The Duck and the saying are A Muse Artistamps and these were stamped, coloured, pen edged by hand then ink edged with parchment colourbox ink and pop mounted. I then selected two little buttons and threaded through some thick white thread and tied in a knot before gluing them on. I then edged the whole card with the parchment ink as it all looked a little too clean compared to the pattern front so it was to blend it all in.

Dah dah!

Congratulations on being guest DT at DCM! Love your card, especially as I think I have the original of this book, I inherited a few similar from my Nana, in fact I may have worn some of these garments as a baby!
